Voice Call Notifications
For urgent alerts, YipYap can place voice calls directly to your phone. The recipient hears a spoken message describing the alert and can acknowledge it by pressing a key.
Setup Guide
Section titled “Setup Guide”- Navigate to Settings > Notification Channels.
- Click Add Channel and select Voice Call.
- Enter the recipient’s phone number in international format (e.g.,
+15559876543). - Click Test to place a test call.
- Click Save.
Call Flow
Section titled “Call Flow”- An alert fires and the escalation policy reaches a voice call step.
- YipYap places a call to the configured number.
- The recipient hears a message like: “YipYap alert. Monitor api-health is down. Press 1 to acknowledge.”
- If the recipient presses 1, the alert is acknowledged.
- If the call goes unanswered, the escalation policy continues to the next step.
Retry Behavior
Section titled “Retry Behavior”If the call is not answered, YipYap retries once after 60 seconds. If the retry also fails, the escalation policy advances to the next step.
Included Allowances
Section titled “Included Allowances”The Pro plan includes 25 voice call minutes per month. The Enterprise plan includes unlimited voice calls. Usage is tracked in Settings > Billing.
